"Without Shiva, Shakti has no being, Without Shakti, Shiva has no expression" Shiva and Shakti are two sides of the same coin, the masculine consciousness and the feminine energy. Tantra means instrument of expansion and the underlying principle to the philosophy is that anything can be used as a vehicle towards enlightenment. Unlike the eariler vedic philosophies it was the first to embrace multiple deities and to dissolve the caste system which restricted yoga practice to the Brahmins alone. It looked to nature and power of the feminine for guidance and understanding of perpetual creation. In Tantra philosophy the 10 great wisdom goddesses offer archetypal energies by which to evoke and explore feminine power. The Mahavidyas are unique although some of the Goddesses bear similarities to the more well known Hindu female deities such as Saraswati and Lakshmi. As a group they bring awareness to the nature of everything being entwined - they are both particle and wave. This class brings to life each of the great wisdom goddesses according to her various epithets, iconography and symbolism and combines mythological storytelling, pranayama, asana, mudra, simple kundalini kriyas, mantra and and guided meditation.  It is suitable for all levels of ability and experience - variations are offered throughout via intelligent sequencing enabling everyone to embrace their own archetypal feminine power on this illuminating journey.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation policy: All bookings are strictly non refundable, except in the event of Yoga Avenue or any of its partners cancelling. Should you need to cancel please inform the organiser as soon a as possible. Only in the event that your space is resold to another participant will you be offered a credit for another class. If you have purchased either a 6 class pass or a 10 class pass please note that ALL 6 classes must be used within in the specified period of the pass, classes cannot be carried over. As a small business it is important that this rule is applied to ALL bookings equally to ensure sustainability and fairness throughout - your understanding is very much appreciated.
