About The Event
Garuda, a divine bird with the head, wings and talons and beak of an eagle and the body and limbs of a man symbolises our existence as spiritual beings walking this earth in a material body.
This 2 hour yoga practice will explore the tale of Garuda through the mythical poetic allegory that is captured in the pose Garudasana. A balance pose that enables us to connect from root to crown with our own centre as we overcome the obstalces associated with finding our balance - just as Garuda had to do when he set out on his epic rescue mission. We will flow from stillness and interior awareness through breath work into a series of creative kramic sequences designed to extend, strengthen and integrate the body and close with a meditation to return us to the centre of our own divine nature just as the great eagle comes back to rest.
"As an eagle, weary after soaring in the sky, folds it's wings and flys down to rest in it's nest, so does the shining Self enter the state of dreamless sleep, where one is freed from all desires."
