About The Event

Out of all the trees, divine awareness is more present in the Ashvattha, says the ancient yogic teachings of the Bhagavad Gita.  The 'eternal tree of life' has it's roots in heaven and it's branches here on Earth.

This 2 hour yoga practice will explore the myth of the Asthvatta tree through the ancient story of the horse sacrifice.  The tree of life is a metaphor for the spine, the danda or staff which rises from the roots of the Earth to the heavenly realms beyond.  Our yoga practice we flow through creative namaskars sequencing asana to flex, extend and twist the trunk as we feed the branches and nourish the roots through movement, breath and meditation.

This event takes place over the weekend of 4th and 5th July.  Four x 2 hour sessions are offered.  All sessions are suitable for all ages from 18+ and abilities.   Modifications and advancements in asana will be offered throughout.  You will however need to be of reasonable fitness and sure footed to access the venue - sensible footwear is required, no flipflops please.) The woodland platform is a 10 minute walk from the farm (or a 15 minute amble if you want to pause and pretend to take in the views while you catch your breath.   Please allow yourself time to arrive and settle.

What you will need to bring with you and compliance with social distancing

Each participant will need to bring a yoga mat to the venue.  In view of the current situation social distancing rules must be observed.  There is enough space on the plaform for these to be observed.  Guide markers on the platform will indicate safe positioning for your mat.  (Note the wearing of masks is optional, however as a teacher I cannot wear a mask.)  You must be fit and healthy to atend this event and free of any symptoms of Corona Virus or awareness that you may have recently been in contact with someone who has the virus.  Please observe and be respectful of these requirements so that we can protect and support everyone.
