Tree of Life Yoga Day Retreat - Sunday 26th September
Time & Location
About The Event
Following the success of our Summer Solstice Woodland Yoga Retreat Day in June and I delighted to be able to offer this Autumn Day Retreat.
Exploring the myth and symbolism of the Tree of Life, also known as the World Tree, the day will begin with a 2 hour deep dive into vinyasa flow. As we move through creative sequencing the body awakens to the energy that flows unseen - a river beneath the rivers. With enhanced awareness of the intimate connection between breath and mind we gain insight into the currents of this river that enable us to draw out the nourishment we need for our own fulfilment wellbeing. Through asana and pranayama practice we will enervate, extend, strengthen and integrate body, mind and spirt connecting to the ancient woodland surroundings through all the senses.
Yogic philosophy and Hindu mythology enliven the imaginative realms and enable us to collectively expand and embrace the deeper symbolism contained within. This is perhaps even more relevant to our lives today than our ancestors whose connection to the forest evoked a harmony and balance with nature. As you lie back in savasana, gazing up into the canopy of the trees, serenaded by gentle birdsong it becomes impossible not to feel a deepening ease as nature envelopes your senses.
A delicious lunch is included in the ticket price. It will be served in the fairytale setting of the roundhouse - around a cosy fire. There will also be a unique and for now, secret additional offering on the day for you to enjoy!
In the afternoon our Yin yoga practice will call us inwards to witness the magical network of sensations inhabiting the deeper layers of our tissues. We unfold, detangle and release into deeper connection and understanding - a chance to tune into the subtle energetic shifts that the stillnes of a passive practice brings.
This event is suitable for all adults from 18+ and for all levels of yoga practitioner. Modifications and advancements in asana will be offered throughout. You will however need to be of reasonable fitness and 'sure footed' to access the venue - sensible footwear is required, no flipflops please. The woodland platform is a 10 minute walk from the farm (or a 15 minute amble if you want to pause and pretend to take in the views while you catch your breath.) Please allow yourself time to arrive and settle as the event will begin promptly at 10am.
(I'm truly sorry but I cannot accomodate pregnant yogis at this event).
