Finding Balance - a yoga workshop designed to explore the art of balance!
The act of physical balance requires not just strength but also also a deep awareness of our bodies in space as well as involving our mental equilibrium and our ego. A yoga practice brings us face to face the often tricky issue of balance which can challenge us on many levels.

About The Event
In this 2 hour workshop we will investigate equilibirum, aka balance. What tools can we use to help us develop and improve our balance so that we can feel more centered, more aware of our physical alignment and more in touch with the inner workings of the mind that can pull us out of balance so easily.
We will start with asking why we want to find our balance anyway? What benefits does it offer and is it within our grasp? How do we move from a state of imbalance towards balance and what other areas of our lives can this enhance?
With a focus on finding balancing on both feet and then on one, as well also explore arm balances and how these can inspire us and break through our assumptions that we cannot balance or our fears of falling.
This workshop is open to all levels including beginners. Poses will be modified or advancced to allow everyone to explore their own range of balance. With a background in classical and contemporary dance and gymnastics I have lived in a place where I took balance for granted. In my yoga practice and especially my teaching I regularly encounter the blocks that halt our ability to balance successfully, with ease and grace but also with surrender to the other side - falling!
This workshop is intended to give you tools to help you find your way into your balance, not just on the mat but in daily life too.
