About The Event
Long long ago, the ancient yogi adepts unlocked a secret. Â They discovered through consistent methodical exploration, the power of the breath to alter the human state of being. Â With intuitive awareness and deeply researched methods they sought out and practiced different techniques to harness these innate powers and utlise them to access meditative states. Â Whilst their intention was to seek answers to what lay beyond the physical realm and what is really means to be human, they discovered that the breath holds the key to navigating waking reality and being in the world with greater clarity, discernment and more fluid ease. Â Pranayam is a yogic practice defined as techniques which bring about control and direction of the prana or life force in the body. Â Â On a physiological level the way we breathe affects the way the autonomic nervous system functions, our response to stimuli, the emotions and thoughts we experience and our heart rate. Â
In this 75 minute practice you will be offered the opportunity to firstly explore more deeply a range of traditional pranayam techniques and experience for yourself how fascinating the breath can be when we pay attention to and become more curious about its subtle and fascinating  nuances.   All exercises will be offered with gentle guidance and awareness drawn to any contraindications relevant to individual health conditions.   Physical movement will be invited between practices which will be taken in both supine and seated positions. Â
The journey of the breath flows into deep rest sequested in space. Â Â As you float above the ground suspended in a fabric hammock which hugs your body like second skin, the world outside dissolves. Â This suspended relaxation is accompanied by guided awareness to facilitate complete release. Â Accompanied by the soothing sound of koshi chimes your mind will be mesmerised into an endless flowing stream of quiet, replenishing calm. Â The spaciousness of your rest is echoed by the framed view of the sky hovering above you.
All levels are welcome to attend. Â Â You do not need to have an existing practice or yoga experience and so this invitation is extended to complete beginners as much as it is to yogi adepts and everyone inbetween. Â There is a minimum age of 18 however if you are a parent and wish to bring a child aged between 12 and 17, this can be accommodated.
Please note the aerial equipment and contraindications dictates a weight limit of 85kg. Â If you have any medical condition including but not limited to: glaucoma, heart issues, high or low blood pressure and/or are taking medication please let the organiser know before booking to ensure this event is safe and suitable for you to participate in.
