About The Event
Ida Rolf described the Psoas as the muscle of the soul. It is paired with the Iliacus and together they are jointly referrred to as the iliopsoas.
The Psoas is spine stablliser and the iliacus a hip flexor. Known to be the only back to front muscle that connects the spine to the legs, it's importance extends beyond it's contribution to good posture and the cause of lower back or groin pain.
"It is an organ of perception composed of bio-intelligent tissue that embodies our deepest urge for survival." Liz Kock, authori or The Psoas Book.
In this online workshop you will be guided through a series of movement patterns designed to help you and your Psoas become a little better acquainted. You'll also discover why the psoas is regarded as being so unique by many in the yoga, pilates and movement discipline fields. Through intelligent sequencing we can bring physical release and balance to muscle groups such as the iliopsoas. We will also discover how subtle holding patterns deeply embedded in these tissues can be the cause of mobility issues, pain, digestive and respiratory issues.
Suitable for all levels of practitioner you will require a yoga mat or towel, 2 pillows or a bolster and 2 yoga bricks or some sturdy books that are suitable for placing weight onto (you can stack books up or Harry Potter tombs seem to work well!).
**If you have purchased the Om Unlimited Pass access to this workshop is included with your pass**
